EKSU Holds 29th Convocation Ceremony, Senate President Akpabio, Other Dignitaries in Attendance

Ekiti State University (EKSU), Ado-Ekiti, held its 29th Convocation Ceremony, marking another milestone in academic excellence and educational transformation. The event, graced by prominent personalities, underscored the institution’s commitment to producing well-rounded graduates equipped for future challenges.
The convocation was attended by the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, alongside the Deputy Senate President, Senator Jibrin Barau, and other distinguished guests. Their presence added prestige to the occasion, reflecting the national significance of EKSU’s achievements.
Governor of Ekiti State, Biodun Oyebanji, expressed his gratitude for the Senate President’s commendations on the progress being made in the education sector. He also welcomed Akpabio’s directive on the National Assembly’s support for critical infrastructure around the state’s airport corridor, which is expected to enhance development and accessibility.
Governor Oyebanji reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to repositioning the education sector, ensuring it meets contemporary demands and prepares the youth for a competitive future. The recent ranking of EKSU as the top state university in Nigeria, he noted, serves as a strong motivation to continue investing in quality, functional, and inclusive education.
The ceremony also saw the conferment of honorary doctorate degrees on three distinguished Nigerians: Senator (Dr) Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, and Dr. Mansur Muhtar, in recognition of their contributions to national development.
