FUTA Medical Students Honour Vice-Chancellor For Role In MBBS Programme Accreditation

Medical students of the Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) have honoured the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Adenike Temidayo Oladiji, with an Award of Appreciation for her leadership and contributions towards the successful accreditation of the University’s MBBS programme by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN).

The award was presented during a courtesy visit by the FUTA Medical Students’ Association (FUTAMSA) delegation to the Vice-Chancellor.

Presenting the award, the President of FUTAMSA, Ayanfeoluwa Abraham, said the recognition was a reflection of the students’ appreciation for the University administration’s commitment, strategic investments, and support for the medical programme.

He stated that the successful accreditation marked a significant milestone in strengthening the foundation for quality medical education at FUTA and boosting students’ confidence in the future of the programme.

Responding, Prof. Oladiji appreciated the students for the honour, describing the recognition as a collective achievement of the entire University community.

She commended the staff and students of the College of Medicine for their dedication throughout the accreditation process and reaffirmed FUTA’s commitment to maintaining global best practices in medical education, research, and healthcare training.

Also present during the visit were the Provost, College of Medicine, Prof. N. C. Olagbuji; Deputy Provost, Prof. V. O. Ukwenya; Dean, School of Basic Clinical Sciences, Prof. Mojisola Udoh; College Coordinator of the MBBS Programme, Dr Dennis S. Arokoyo; and the College Secretary, Mr Korede Ayeni.
