FUTES-IYIN Holds Maiden Press Conference, Highlights Institutional Growth and Development Milestones

The Federal University of Technology and Environmental Sciences, Iyin-Ekiti (FUTES-IYIN), has held its maiden press conference, providing members of the media with an opportunity to engage with the university’s management and gain insight into its journey, achievements, challenges and future direction.

The press conference, held as part of the university’s efforts to strengthen public communication, featured an overview of the institution’s development since its establishment under the leadership of its pioneer Vice-Chancellor, Professor Gbenga Aribisala.

The university management explained that from inception, deliberate efforts had been made to ensure that its activities, milestones, challenges and institutional development were properly documented and communicated to the public.

According to the institution, the objective of the engagement was not simply to increase visibility, but to ensure that the university’s progress and the efforts of those contributing to its development were accurately presented to the wider public.

Speaking during the press conference, the Vice-Chancellor reflected on the establishment of FUTES-IYIN, its maiden academic session and the progress recorded across various areas of the university’s development.

He highlighted developments in academics and research, infrastructure, staff and student development, partnerships, as well as the challenges confronting the young institution.

The Vice-Chancellor also outlined the university’s ambitions and the vision driving its continued development as it builds its academic and institutional structures from the foundation.

The engagement provided an opportunity for the media to gain a closer understanding of the realities surrounding the establishment and growth of the university, while also creating a platform for direct communication between the institution and the public.

FUTES-IYIN management noted that building a university involves more than developing physical infrastructure and academic programmes, stressing the importance of documenting its progress and communicating its activities transparently as the institution evolves.
