FUT Minna Commences 34th Convocation and 43rd Founders’ Day Activities with Special Juma’at Prayer
The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), has held a special Juma’at Prayer Session to mark the forthcoming 34th Convocation Ceremony and 43rd Founders’ Day for the 2024/2025 Academic Session.
The prayer session, which took place on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the University Juma’at Mosque, Main Campus, signalled the commencement of activities leading to the convocation ceremony scheduled for Sunday, February 1, 2026.
Addressing the congregation, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, urged members of the University Community to continue praying for the success of the convocation and commended staff for their support and cooperation with the University Management.
In his sermon titled “Appreciating the Blessings of Allah: The Basis for Guidance,” the Chief Imam of the University, Sheikh Dr. Bashir Ahmad Yankuzo, described knowledge and guidance as divine blessings, noting that beneficial knowledge is rooted in consciousness of Allah.
He emphasized that knowledge and sound character are essential for social justice, economic growth and national development.
He also called for increased investment in education and research, encouraged positive attitudinal change among youths, and commended FUT Minna for prioritising character and learning. Urged graduands to use their knowledge and skills to promote positive change and community development.
