The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUT Minna), Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, on Tuesday, December 2, 2025, led members of the University Management on a courtesy visit to the Pioneer Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Jonathan O. Ndagi, at his residence in Uphill, Minna.
In his remarks during the visit, Prof. Kuta conveyed the goodwill and warm greetings of the University community, expressing deep appreciation to the foundation Vice-Chancellor for the solid legacy he established, one that successive administrations have continued to build upon. He also briefed him on key developments and ongoing activities within the University.
The Vice-Chancellor particularly highlighted the University's continued commitment to sustaining the culture of environmental cleanliness and beauty, an ideal highly valued by the pioneer VC. He noted that FUT Minna remains dedicated to maintaining its green landscape, trees, and flowers, which contribute to a serene, learner friendly environment.
Further updating him on institutional progress, Prof. Kuta explained that the University has expanded its academic structure with the establishment of additional schools and programmes, including the newly created College of Medical Sciences. He also informed him that the University is currently undergoing the process of international accreditation by the UK Quality Assurance Agency (QAA), a development that will place FUT Minna on par with leading higher institutions in the United Kingdom.
The Vice-Chancellor used the occasion to congratulate Prof. Ndagi on his recently celebrated 95th birthday. On behalf of the Council, Senate, Staff, and Students of FUT Minna, he presented him with a customized birthday card.
The birthday message read in part:

Responding, Prof. Jonathan O. Ndagi expressed appreciation to the Vice-Chancellor and his Management team for the visit, stating that he was delighted to hear that the University continues to uphold the tradition of keeping the campus green with trees and flowers.
Reflecting on the early years of the institution, he recalled that FUT Minna was known from inception for excellence in science and technology. He noted that in the early days of computer adoption in Nigeria, the Federal Government often sent its officials to FUT Minna for training in computer operations. He prayed for greater growth, achievements, and prosperity for the University.
The visit ended with prayers offered by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Prof. Uno E. Uno, who asked for God's continued blessings, good health, and long life for the pioneer Vice-Chancellor.
