FUTMINNA Strengthens Campus Security Through Communication Technology
The Vice-Chancellor, Federal University of Technology, Minna, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta has reaffirmed the University’s commitment to embracing technology-driven solutions to strengthen security and ensure a safe and conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.
Prof. Kuta stated this on Monday, September 7, 2026 at the Main Campus during the presentation and demonstration of newly acquired communication gadgets for the University Security Services Division, USSD.
The Vice-Chancellor emphasised the importance of security to the University’s academic mission, noting that the University remains open to innovative solutions that can improve safety and communication.
He further stressed the need for comprehensive training for personnel who would operate the devices, and encouraged the integration of relevant security agencies operating within the University to strengthen communication and coordination.

Director of Perfecto Exceeding Consults Ltd., suppliers of the gadgets, Mrs. Medinat Titilayo Abdulraheem who led the demonstration, highlighted the potential of the new equipment to improve communication and coordination among security units.
During the demonstration, the team explained the operation and capabilities of the devices, while members of the University Management engaged with the team on their practical application to campus security.
The event was witnessed by the Registrar, Mallam Danladi Mallam; the Head of the University Legal Unit, Mrs Evelyn Husseini; Acting Chief Security Officer, Alhaji Yunusa Aliyu Waziri, and USSD staff.
