Gombe State University Hosts Chairperson of Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe Governing Board

Gombe State University (GSU) on today welcomed the Chairperson of the Governing Board of the Federal Teaching Hospital (FTH) Gombe, Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, during a courtesy visit aimed at strengthening the collaboration between the two institutions in the training of medical professionals.

 

The delegation was received by the University’s Management, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Danladi M. Umar, who represented the Ag. Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sani Ahmed Yauta. 

 

During the visit, the Chief Medical Director of FTH Gombe, Dr. Yusuf Mohammed  Abdullahi, commended the strong partnership between the teaching hospital and GSU, emphasizing its pivotal role in medical education. "Without GSU, we would not be a teaching hospital," he stated, underscoring the need for continued synergy between the two institutions.

Hajiya Zainab Abubakar Ibrahim, who also serves as the National Deputy Women Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), lauded the University for its commitment to training medical professionals. She reaffirmed her dedication to advancing FTH Gombe to serve not only Gombe State but also the entire Northeast region and the country at large.

 

In his remarks, Professor Danladi Umar, expressed gratitude for the visit and reiterated GSU’s commitment to fostering collaboration with FTH Gombe. He highlighted the hospital’s crucial role in providing hands-on training for medical students and assured continued cooperation for the advancement of healthcare education.

As part of the visit, Hajiya Zainab was honored with Gombe State University’s official lapel, recognizing her as a distinguished guest of the institution.
