Gombe State University Set to Establish Faculty of Agricultural Sciences

Gombe State University (GSU) has commenced preparations for the establishment of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, located at Malam Sidi.

This development is a result of a collaboration initiated by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya during his visit to Michigan State University (MSU), USA.

 

The partnership aims to advance agricultural education and innovation in Gombe State. A delegation from Michigan State University, led by Prof. Daniel Uyeh, visited GSU and inspected the proposed site for the Faculty of Agriculture, as well as the Industrial Park at Dadin Kowa, designated for an Agricultural Innovation Hub.

Prof. Uyeh expressed optimism about the project, highlighting the readiness of the infrastructure. GSU's Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Sani Ahmed Yauta, commended Governor Yahaya for his visionary leadership, emphasizing the partnership's potential to transform GSU into a hub for agricultural education.

 

The proposed partnership between GSU and MSU focuses on three key areas:
