Gov. Alia Clears ₦1 Billion Arrears for BSUTH Staff
Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has cleared over ₦1 billion in staff arrears at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH), ensuring optimal healthcare delivery and worker welfare.

Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has cleared ₦1,005,496,729.76 in outstanding arrears for staff at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH). The payment includes 13 months of 2023 promotion arrears, 1 month of 2024 promotion arrears, 21 months of hazard allowance arrears, relativity allowances for honorary consultants, accouterment arrears, and staff death benefits.
Additionally, the governor approved ₦398,568,662 for reviewed CONHESS/CONMESS payments to ensure timely compensation for healthcare professionals.
This move underscores the governor's dedication to revitalizing the state’s healthcare sector and addressing the financial challenges faced by medical workers. Governor Alia’s comprehensive approach to settling 35 months of academic and earned allowances for civil servants and pensioners highlights his focus on restoring dignity to public service.
