Although he initially applied to study Law but was unable to secure admission due to not meeting the cut-off mark, he eventually found his passion in Political Science.

Michael Ebe, a determined 24-year-old student from Ebonyi State University (EBSU), has achieved a remarkable feat by earning his bachelor’s degree in Political Science despite facing significant challenges. Michael, who financed his education by working as a butcher at an abattoir, shared his inspiring journey of perseverance and resilience.

Micheal hails from Ebonyi and worked as a butcher at an abbatoir to fund his education. Despite the challenges he faced, including the loss of his father who had promised to support his education, Micheal persevered and successfully completed his studies with a second-class upper degree. Reflecting on his journey, Micheal shared, "The day he died, I lost all hope that I was not going to go to school again. It really broke my heart."

"My father had told me that I would go to school, no matter what, as long as he was alive. So, when he passed away, I felt my world had ended," Michael shared, highlighting the profound impact of his father's passing on his aspirations.

Despite the initial setback, Michael found solace and motivation in his father's parting words. "Even if I die and cannot train you as I trained your brothers, God will raise people who will train you". Encouraged by these words, Michael persisted in his pursuit of higher education.

After his father's passing, Micheal embraced the opportunity to work as a butcher at the abattoir, where he started by helping slaughter cows and earning a daily wage. Despite facing initial setbacks in his academic pursuits, Micheal remained determined. Although he initially applied to study Law but was unable to secure admission due to not meeting the cut-off mark, he eventually found his passion in Political Science.
