Jijiwa, Bishop Mamza Lead Newly Inaugurated MAU Advancement Team

Modibbo Adama University, Yola, has inaugurated the University Advancement Team, with Alhaji Abubakar Jijiwa, Waziri Fufore, as Chairman and Most Rev. Bishop Stephen Dami Mamza as Co-Chairman.

The inauguration, which held yesterday at the Council Chamber of the University, was performed on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, by the DVC Academic, Prof. Iliyasu Audu.

The University Advancement Team, is saddled with the responsibility of supporting the University’s advancement efforts, particularly in strengthening partnerships, attracting investments and resources and fostering strategic relationships that will contribute to the development of the University.

The team comprises both internal and external members drawn from diverse backgrounds. 

Prof. Audu, charged the team members to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, commitment and a strong sense of purpose, stressing the importance of the University Advancement Team to the institution’s continued growth.

He urged the members to bring their wealth of experience, networks and expertise to bear in supporting the University Advancement Centre and ensuring the effective implementation of its mandate.

The University Advancement Centre, established to coordinate the University’s advancement activities, serves as a platform for mobilising strategic partnerships, investments, philanthropic support and other opportunities capable of enhancing the University’s development.

Highlighting some of the achievements recorded by the Centre, the Director of the University Advancement Centre, Prof. Murtala Aliyu stated that, the Centre attracted so many projects and interventions such as the 25-hectare pasture farm, which served as a catalyst for the University's diversification efforts, establishment of a state-of-the-art Weather Centre and an international-standard Artificial Insemination Centre among others. 

Prof. Murtala added that the Centre also made some proposals which are awaiting approval.

The newly inaugurated Team members were subsequently assigned their respective responsibilities and charged to commence work towards achieving the objectives of the University Advancement Team.
