Kashim Ibrahim University Welcomes 2025/2026 Cohort at 7th Annual Orientation Ceremony
Kashim Ibrahim University Maiduguri has held its Seventh Orientation Ceremony for newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session.
The ceremony, which took place at the University premises, was declared open by the Vice-Chancellor Professor Babagana Gutti, who welcomed the new students and urged them to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations of the institution.
Professor Gutti reminded the students that their academic journey has just begun, noting that while some of them would spend four years in the University, others would stay for five or six years depending on their programmes of study.
He described the orientation as an annual tradition that precedes the matriculation ceremony, emphasizing that the students would officially become members of the University community after the matriculation ceremony.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged them to pay close attention to all presentations delivered during the programme, as they are designed to guide them throughout their academic journey in the University and also prayed for their success.
In her remarks, the Registrar of the University, Mrs. Jallaba M. Sheikh formally welcomed the students to the University and described the orientation programme as the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of the newly admitted students.
The Registrar expressed delight in receiving them into the academic community of Kashim Ibrahim University and encouraged them to take full advantage of the numerous academic and developmental opportunities available .
She also urged them to strive for excellence in their studies and make proper use of the facilities provided by the institution as the University is committed to nurturing them to become the best in both character and learning, not only in Borno State and Nigeria, but globally.
The ceremony featured presentations on various topics by resource persons aimed at enlightening the students on academic expectations, institutional regulations, dangers of drug abuse and students responsibilities within the University.
