KASU College of Medicine Honours Prof. Abdullahi Alkali Abba for Outstanding Contributions

The College of Medicine, Kaduna State University (KASU), held a send-forth ceremony to honor Prof. Abdullahi Alkali Abba, the immediate past Provost, for his outstanding contributions to the institution. The Acting Provost, Dr. Stephen B. Bature, praised his dedication, while Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa acknowledged his pivotal role in advancing the College of Medicine.

The College of Medicine, Kaduna State University (KASU), has honored Prof. Abdullahi Alkali Abba, the immediate past Provost, in a send-forth ceremony recognizing his remarkable contributions to the institution’s growth and development.

During the event, the Acting Provost, Dr. Stephen B. Bature, praised Prof. Abba for his unwavering dedication and integrity, acknowledging his role in shaping the College. He urged him to remain available to support the institution whenever needed.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Abdullahi Ibrahim Musa commended Prof. Abba’s efforts in advancing the College of Medicine, emphasizing that his impact would always be remembered. He encouraged retirees in academia to continue mentoring students and sharing their expertise.

The Chief Medical Director of Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital, Prof. Abdulkadir Musa Tabari, highlighted Prof. Abba’s pivotal role in training medical students both in Nigeria and abroad. He noted that under Prof. Abba’s leadership, the collaboration between Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital and KASU was strengthened, enhancing the quality of medical education and healthcare services.

Representing the College staff, Prof. Yawale Ilyasu described Prof. Abba as a unifying leader who promoted inclusivity within the institution. Similarly, University Registrar Hajiya Samira Balarabe expressed gratitude for his mentorship in shaping skilled medical professionals.

In his response, Prof. Abba expressed heartfelt appreciation to the University community for their support, pledging to continue contributing to medical education.

The event culminated in the presentation of an Award of Excellence to Prof. Abba in recognition of his invaluable service to KASU.
