The event was held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, as part of efforts to recognise their contributions to the university’s development.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Abdulrashid Garba, described the occasion as an opportunity to appreciate the departing staff for their dedication, commitment, and service to the university rather than a celebration of their departure. He noted that their efforts had contributed meaningfully to the growth of the institution and commended them for their professionalism during their time at KHAIRUN.
The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the departing staff to remain worthy ambassadors of the university in their future engagements and offered prayers for continued success and fulfilment in their professional pursuits.
Staff members honoured at the ceremony included Professor Yakubu Yunusa Musa, Professor Binta Muhammad Aminu, Saima Jibril Muhammad, Alkassim Hamisu Abdu, Nur Bala Rabiu, Usman Abubakar Mahmoud, Sa’adiya Tijjani Umar, Abubakar Sadik Isah, Mansir Hamisu Sani, and Ibrahim Sani Mai-Nagge.

The university management reiterated its commitment to sustaining a culture of appreciation, professionalism, and mutual respect within the institution.
