Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University Library Commences Second Quarter Staff Training Workshop

The University Library of Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University Kano, has commenced a three-day staff training workshop aimed at strengthening the professional competence of library personnel and improving service delivery.

The workshop is expected to last for 3 days, the "First Day" held yesterday 2nd June, 2026, brought together internal and external participants from sister institutions for intensive sessions on modern librarianship practices. The Day one focused on Library Management Software (KOHA) with special attention to circulation, cataloguing modules and barcode systems of library resources.

The first session introduced participants to the basics of library management software, while the second and third sessions covered management circulation module and barcode systems of library resources. The sessions were facilitated by Dr. Usman Ahmed Usman of Kaduna State University Library, who guided participants through practical demonstrations and interactive discussions.

The training is expected to equip participants with improved knowledge of library automation tools, enhance efficiency in circulation services, and strengthen overall library operations.
