The Imam Idaini of Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Dr. Muhammad Bashir Ali, has expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for granting members of the university community the opportunity to witness and celebrate the blessed occasion of Eid Al-Adha.

The two Raka'at Eid prayer was successfully observed at the KIU Eid Prayer Ground within the university premises, where staff, students, and members of the surrounding community gathered in large numbers to participate in the special prayer.

Delivering his Eid sermon (Khutbah), Dr. Muhammad Bashir Ali thanked Almighty Allah for preserving lives and granting Muslims the privilege of witnessing another Eid celebration.

He described Eid Al-Adha as one of the most significant and blessed occasions in Islam, emphasizing that it is a day of joy, gratitude, sacrifice, and seeking Allah's mercy and forgiveness.

He stated that Eid Al-Adha is a special occasion during which Muslims around the world celebrate in happiness while reflecting on the blessings and favors of Allah upon mankind.

According to him, the period serves as an opportunity for strengthening faith, promoting unity, extending kindness to others, and supporting the less privileged in society.

The Imam further explained that the celebration of Eid Al-Adha originates from the obedience and devotion of Prophet Ibrahim (AS), who demonstrated complete submission to the command of Allah.

He noted that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) also upheld and encouraged the practice among Muslims.

Dr. Muhammad Bashir Ali reminded worshippers that the sacrifice of animals during Eid Al-Adha is an act of worship and obedience to Allah, reflecting sincerity, devotion, and faith.

He further narrated that Prophet Muhammad (SAW) slaughtered two large rams during Eid, explaining that one was for himself and his family, while the other was for members of his Ummah who were unable to perform the sacrifice themselves.

The Imam called on Muslims to continue praying for peace, unity, and development in the country, while urging them to uphold the values of sacrifice, patience, compassion, and love for one another as taught by Islam.

The Eid prayer concluded with prayers for peace, prosperity, and continued progress for Kashim Ibrahim University, Borno State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Dignitaries who attended the Eid prayer included the representative of the Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), Professor Shuibu Garba Ngulde; the Chief Security Officer, Yusuf Yari; the Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Mala Wakil Sandabe; the Chief Imam of the University, Sheikh Abubakar Kachallah; and the Chairman of the Borno State Islamiya Association, Malam Muhammad Alhaji Isa, among others.
