KIU Management Visits Shehu of Borno: Reaffirms Commitment to Rebuilding State Through Education
In the same vein, the KIU management, paid similar visit to his Eminence, the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Dr. Abubakar Ibn-Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi where the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Central Admissions, Professor Shettima Bulama Mustapha, on behalf of the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Babagana Gutti commends the Royal Father and congratulated him on the successful completion of the month long Ramadan fast and the peaceful observance of the Eid prayers in Maiduguri and its environs.
Prof. Shetima Bulama Mustapha also used the visit to sympathize with the Shehu over the recent bomb blast that rocked the metropolis and prayed Allah to prevent reoccurrence and prayed for the repose of the souls of the departed and speedy recovery to the inured.
In his response, the Shehu of Borno thanked the KIU management for the sallah homage and urged them to continue to give priority to indigenes of the state, in the area of education. He noted that the people of Borno have endured significant hardship due to insurgency, leaving many traumatized, and emphasized the vital role the University is expected to play in rebuilding lives and providing opportunities.
The Royal Father assured the delegation of his continued support, stating that his palace remains open to the University at all times and expressed willingness to attend any programme organized by the University whenever invited.
