Lagos State University has been named Nigeria’s Most Digitally Innovative University of 2025 by The Octagon Media Group, reaffirming the institution’s leadership in technology-driven education and administrative reform.

The recognition was presented at the 12th Anniversary and Champions Awards Ceremony of The Octagon Media Group, held on Thursday, 27 November 2025, at Leotori Halls & Lodge, Abule Taylor, Lagos.

The award underscores LASU’s sustained progress in digital transformation, its integration of educational technology across academic and administrative functions, and its commitment to enhancing student learning through advanced digital platforms. It highlights the University’s ongoing initiatives in digital literacy, research innovation, and technology-enabled community engagement.

During the ceremony, officials of The Octagon Media praised LASU for its integrity, innovation, and forward-looking deployment of digital tools, describing the University as a benchmark for digitised education and institutional excellence in Nigeria.

The institution’s delegation was led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academics), Professor Oseni Taiwo Afisi, who represented the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM. He was joined by the Bursar, Mr Said Babatunde Olayinka (represented by Deputy Bursar, Mr Kunle Adebesho); the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Professor Lawal Adigun; the Director, Internal Audit, Mrs Margareth Ogunkoya; the Deputy Registrar, Vice-Chancellor’s Office, Dr Lateef Sekoni; the Deputy Registrar/Special Assistant to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Lateef Salami; and Deputy Registrar/Coordinator, Centre for Information and Public Relations, Mrs Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile.
