Lagos State University (LASU) has commenced monitoring of the Second Semester Examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session, with top management assuring strict adherence to academic standards and examination regulations across all faculties.

The examinations, which began on Monday, 1st June 2026 in line with the revised academic calendar, got off to a slightly challenging start but have since stabilised, with improved coordination and orderly conduct recorded across examination venues.
As part of its quality assurance drive, the University Management, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), Professor Oluwatoyin A. Enikuomehin, embarked on an on-the-spot assessment of examination activities across selected faculties, including Social Sciences and Management Sciences.
During the monitoring exercise, the team evaluated compliance with examination guidelines, observed operational procedures, and engaged relevant staff to ensure that standards were being strictly upheld. The visit also served as a feedback mechanism to identify and address early logistical and procedural issues affecting the exercise.

Professor Enikuomehin acknowledged the initial disruptions at the commencement of the examinations but noted significant improvement in organisation and compliance. He commended both staff and students for their resilience, discipline, and cooperation in ensuring the smooth progression of the process.
He reiterated that examination monitoring remains a core pillar of LASU’s academic quality assurance framework, describing it as essential to safeguarding the credibility and integrity of the university’s assessment system. According to him, sustained oversight is necessary to maintain LASU’s reputation for academic excellence and fairness.
He further assured the university community that management would continue to provide the necessary operational and administrative support to ensure a seamless, transparent, and credible examination process throughout the period.

The exercise reflects LASU’s broader commitment to strengthening academic integrity, improving institutional efficiency, and continuously enhancing the quality of teaching, learning, and assessment across the university system.
