LASU Radio Marks 10th Anniversary With High-Profile Media Celebration

The celebration brought together leading figures in Nigeria’s broadcast and media industry, alongside top university officials, industry practitioners and invited guests, in a gathering that reflected the station’s growth and influence over the past decade.
The event, themed “Campus Radio in the Digital Era: Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of LASU Radio,” was attended by the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, Distinguished Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, alongside members of the university management team.
Also present was the donor of the LASU Radio facility, Sir Chief Kesington Adebukunola Adebutu, CON, KJW, who chaired the occasion, as well as the General Manager of Cool FM, Wazobia FM and Nigeria Info, Mr. Femi Obong-Daniels.

The event featured prominent broadcasters and media personalities including Charles Anazodo, Mozez Praiz, Steve Onu (Yaw), Dirisu Anselem, Chief Sup Chapele, Mr. Olayiwola Olakanmi, Mr. Saheed Fuhad and Mr. Joseph Ekine, who also participated as panelists during discussions on the evolution of campus radio in the digital age.
The Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Media Studies, Prof. Jide Jimoh, served as host of the ceremony and was joined by Dr. Yahya Jamiu and Dr. Omolade Atofojomo in coordinating proceedings and receiving guests.
The anniversary event highlighted LASU Radio’s role in training young broadcasters, promoting campus communication and adapting to the changing dynamics of digital media over the past decade.
