LASUCOM recently held an orientation program for its transitioning 200-level students from various disciplines. Provost Prof. Abiodun Adewuya emphasized academic focus and urged students to become world-class graduates.

On Tuesday, May 14th, 2024, the Lagos State University College of Medicine (LASUCOM) organized an Orientation Programme for transitioning 200-level students from various disciplines including Medical, Dental, Nursing, Physiology, and Pharmacology, at the main campus in Ojo.

The event, held at the Medical Sciences Auditorium and John Obafunwa Auditorium, commenced with a Welcome Address by the Provost of the College, Prof. Abiodun Adewuya. Prof. Adewuya emphasized the importance of academic focus and dedication among the students, urging them to strive towards becoming world-class graduates in their respective fields.

"Uphold the values of health professionals and the institution morally, ethically, and academically," Prof. Adewuya reiterated, emphasizing the significance of integrity and principles befitting of the College's reputation.

The Deans of Faculties and Heads of Departments, including Prof. O.K Yemitan (Basic Clinical Sciences), Prof. Idowu Sebanjo (Clinical Sciences), Prof. Adebiyi Emmanuel (Dentistry), Dr. Bola Ofi (Head of Nursing Department), Dr. S.O Ladipo (Ag. Medical Librarian), Prof. O.O Oshinaike (Chairman Student Affairs Committee), and Mrs. Abisuga (Head of Academic Affairs Division), briefed the students on their respective areas of operations, emphasizing the importance of upholding the College's standards in character and persona.

Additionally, Heads of Departments, Divisions, and Units in the Non-Academic and Administrative branches of the College, such as Mrs. Motolani Badru (Ag. Financial Controller, Bursary Department), Dr. Akindele (College Counselor), and Mr. Abdulateef Ifegbuyi (Chief Security Officer), provided insights into the roles of their respective departments in the College.
