The Students' Affairs Division of Lagos State University (LASU) recently organized a workshop aimed at bolstering the skills and expertise of staff members involved in mobilizing graduates for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). Held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the School of Transport and Logistics Conference Room on the main campus in Ojo, the workshop focused on improving data management and addressing challenges encountered during the NYSC mobilization process.

In his opening remarks, the Acting Dean of Students' Affairs, Dr. Abiodun Fatai-Abatan, underscored the importance of training and data management. He expressed gratitude to the University's Management, particularly the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, for their support in organizing the workshop. Dr. Fatai-Abatan highlighted the workshop's objective of equipping participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for a seamless and efficient mobilization process.

The workshop attracted senior administrators and staff from various departments, including the School of Part-Time Studies, Directorate of Sandwich program, and Open & Distant Learning and Research Institute (ODLRI). Facilitators guided participants through topics such as NYSC data management, mobilization procedures, and case studies.

Mrs. Zaynab Ashiru-Mobolaji, the Deputy Registrar of Students' Affairs, provided insights into the Guidelines for Effective Mobilization of University Graduates, while other facilitators included Mrs. Nimatallah A. Yusuf and Mr. Cornelius Adeleye.

Interactive sessions provided participants with the opportunity to discuss and propose solutions for an effective NYSC mobilization exercise. The workshop aimed to equip staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to overcome challenges and ensure a smooth process for graduates.

Notable attendees from the Students Affairs Division included Mr. Kehinde Jinadu, Mr. Ibrahim Popoola, Miss Tayo Akinwunmi, Mrs. Oluyinka Dotun-Johnson, and Mr. Justice, along with other senior administrators and staff.
