The Faculty of Social Sciences at Lagos State University (LASU) is gearing up to host the inaugural Nigeria Africa-China Research Group (NiACReG) Conference on May 7th and 8th, 2024.

The Faculty of Social Sciences is set to host the inaugural Nigeria Africa-China Research Group (NiACReG) Conference on May 7th and 8th, 2024. The conference will focus on the theme "Knowledge (Re)production and the Academe in Africa-China Research Space" and will take place at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Hall, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos, starting at 9:00 am.

Distinguished guests at the conference will include Prof. Philip Afaha, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the University of Abuja, serving as the Chairperson. Lead speakers include Dr. Efem Ubi, Acting Director of Research and Studies at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, and Dr. Outi Luova, Director of the Finnish University Network of Asian Studies and Vice Director at the Centre for East Asian Studies, University of Turku, Finland.

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) will be chaired by Prof. Jameelah Yaqub, while Prof. Olufemi Lawal, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences, will serve as the host. The Chief Host of the event is Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University.
