JAMB Releases Supplementary UTME Results Amid Tightened Security Measures

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the release of results for candidates who participated in the supplementary Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted on Friday, 21st and Saturday, 22nd June, 2024. The examination, designed for candidates who faced biometric verification challenges during the main UTME or were suspected of exam malpractices, accommodated 28,835 individuals across the country.

The supplementary UTME, which aimed to provide a second opportunity for affected candidates, was closely monitored under enhanced security measures to prevent any form of malpractice. According to JAMB officials, the deployment of advanced technologies during the examination helped in identifying and apprehending impostors who attempted to write exams on behalf of others. These individuals have since been handed over to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and prosecution.

Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Public Relations Officer for JAMB, emphasized the Board's commitment to ensuring the integrity of its examinations through stringent security protocols. "We continue to deploy state-of-the-art technology before, during, and after our examinations to safeguard against any form of malpractice," Dr. Benjamin stated.

In a stern warning to candidates, Dr. Benjamin urged them to abstain from engaging in irregularities during their examinations, including seeking fraudulent score upgrades or tampering with result sheets. "Candidates are advised in their own interest to refrain from any form of misconduct during exams. Such actions not only jeopardize their chances but also undermine the credibility of our examination process," he cautioned.
