NSUK Secures First Patent as Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences Wins 8th Research Fair

Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK) has achieved a major milestone by securing its first Patent and Trademark for NSUK-ZIRAFAST, a herbal medicine developed by Professor Moses Zira Zaruwa of the Department of Biochemistry.
This announcement was made by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman, at the 8th Annual Research Fair Exhibition, held at the S.B. Mohammed Auditorium. The event, themed "Disruptive Transformational Innovation, Shaping the Future," focused on fostering innovations across sectors such as technology, education, and healthcare.
Governor Abdullahi A. Sule, represented by Dr. John D.W. Mamman, praised the University's research efforts, reaffirming the Nasarawa State Government's commitment to supporting NSUK's growth as a research hub.
The Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences emerged as the winner of the exhibition, with the Faculties of Agriculture and Arts following in second and third place. The Directorate of Cyberspace Studies won first place among the directorates and institutes, with the Entrepreneurship Development Centre and Technology Incubation Centre, Lafia, taking second and third.
