Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) has announced the dates for its highly anticipated 48th Convocation Ceremony, scheduled to take place from Wednesday, December 11, to Saturday, December 14, 2024.
The event, organized under the leadership of the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamire, will celebrate the academic achievements of students and recognize distinguished honorees.
The program commences on December 11 with the Award of Diploma Degrees at the Department of Local Government Studies. On December 12 and 13, first-degree graduations across faculties, including Administration, Arts, Education, and Basic Medical Sciences, will take place at the Oduduwa Hall Amphitheatre.
Additional highlights include:
A convocation play, Man Talk Woman Talk by Ola Rotimi, on December 12 at 7:00 p.m.
A convocation lecture titled "From Campus to Career: Navigating Life’s Realities and Embracing Entrepreneurship in a Changing World," delivered by the Vice-President of Nigeria, Senator Kashim Shettima, on December 13.
The grand finale on December 14 will feature the conferment of postgraduate diplomas, master’s degrees, doctorates, and honorary degrees.
