Fulafia Governing Council Seeks Federal Support For Infrastructure And Security

The Chairman of the Governing Council of the Federal University of Lafia, FULafia, Dr Modupeola Adebimpe Adebajo, has appealed to the Federal Government to address the institution's pressing infrastructure and security challenges.

Adebajo made the appeal during a courtesy visit made by the University's Governing Council members and Management staff to the Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, at his office in Abuja.

The chairman highlighted the University's critical needs, urging the minister to support efforts to improve security, provide additional students' hostels, lecture halls, staff offices, laboratories and other essential facilities required for effective teaching, learning, and research.

Responding, Alausa assured the delegation of the ministry's commitment to supporting the institution. 

He pledged to prioritise FULafia's requests and provide assistance in areas within the ministry's capacity to strengthen the University's academic and infrastructural development.

The delegation included the Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, the Registrar, Dr Nuradeen Abdu, Governing Council members including Dr Amos Gizo and Prof. George Genyi, Chief of Staff to the Vice-Chancellor, Dr Bashir Ozomata, and Mr Akinje Festus, the Federal Ministry of Education's representative on the University's Governing Council.

Some senior officials of the ministry also attended the meeting.
