LAUTECH Honours Osofisan, Osifo, and Joke Silva for Excellence in Creative Arts

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, this evening awarded three prominent nollywood practitioners and arts influencers for their roles in the development of Nigerians theatre arts industry.

Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Razaq Olatunde Rom Kalilu at a filled up The Great Hall of the Institution awarded renowned Professor Femi Osofisan ( whose play, Morountodun, was staged as Convocation Play of the 18th Convocation Ceremonies by students of theatre arts department of the University), Dr. Alex Osifo (a former postgraduate student of the University), and Madam Joke Silva Awards of Excellence in Creative Arts. Professor Kalilu was assisted in the presentation of the awards by the University Registrar, Mrs. Olayinka Balogun.

Earlier in the day during a courtesy call on him in his office, the Vice Chancellor had announced the intention of his administration to have LAUTECH Drama troupe take off.

He said it is the combination of arts and science that could make complete meaning to humanity.p

While disclosing that management was already studying a proposal before it for the realization of an impressive school of theatre arts, he said his management was committed to giving realization of the dream whatever it takes.
