AHRIMPN Commences Health Information Week; CMD Hails Practitioners as "Gatekeepers" of Healthcare Data
The Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria (AHRIMPN) commenced its annual Health Information Practitioners (HIP) Week on 20th April, 2026, at the Hospital's foyer.
This year’s event is themed: "Guardian of Health Information: Driving Healthcare Transformation Through Technology"
In her opening speech, the Head of the Department of Health Information Management, Mrs. Olajumoke Ezekiel, acknowledged the management of UCH, for their unwavering support to the school. She also noted that this year's symposium would be more incisive, in terms of professionalism.
The Chairperson of the association, Comrade Halimat Adedeji, outlined the programme of activities for the week.

She also appreciated the management, under the leadership of Prof. Jesse Otegbayo, for recruiting more Health Information Officers to the institution. She noted that this would enable Health Records Officers to work more efficiently in health care services delivery to the hospital.
The Chief Medical Director, Prof. Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo, celebrated the Health Information Officers as the custodians and gatekeepers of health information. He reiterated management’s commitment to supporting staff training and welfare.
