Mayana Energy Limited Visits NSUK VC, Explores Partnership on Nigeria’s First Green University Campus

A delegation from Mayana Energy Limited on Friday, January 23, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, to explore a strategic partnership aimed at developing Nigeria’s first green and eco-friendly university campus.

A delegation from Mayana Energy Limited on Friday, January 23, 2026, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, to explore a strategic partnership aimed at developing Nigeria’s first green and eco-friendly university campus.

The engagement, which took place at the Vice-Chancellor’s office, was attended by principal officers of the University, including the Director, Centre for Bioenergy and Dean, Faculty of Natural and Applied Sciences, Professor M. D. Makut, who served as liaison between the University Management and the visiting delegation.

Welcoming the team, Professor Liman expressed appreciation for the visit and commended Mayana Energy Limited for identifying NSUK as a potential hub for green energy deployment and innovation. She noted that the proposal aligns with the University’s long-term vision of transitioning to renewable energy solutions and promoting environmentally sustainable campus operations.

The Vice-Chancellor reaffirmed the University’s readiness to adopt Mayana Energy’s bioenergy products and collaborate on the proposed Mayana Energy curriculum, to be implemented in partnership with the University’s Entrepreneurship Development Centre. According to her, the initiative would enhance students’ exposure to innovation and emerging technologies, strengthen NSUK’s culture of excellence, and generate sustainable value for both the Energy Centre and the University.

Earlier, the Managing Director of Mayana Energy Limited, Dr. Mer Anthony Best, an alumnus of NSUK, explained that the proposed collaboration is focused on promoting green energy solutions and establishing sustainable energy systems within the University. He stated that the initiative would position NSUK as a national reference point for reduced dependence on conventional government power infrastructure, with the long-term goal of energy self-sufficiency.

Dr. Best added that the visit also involved technical assessments and strategic considerations to ensure alignment between Mayana Energy’s energy transition and training initiatives and the University’s vision and core values.

A highlight of the visit was the presentation of a Star Award to Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman in recognition of her commitment to promoting green energy initiatives through Mayana Energy Limited, as well as in celebration of the proposed partnership and NSUK’s pioneering role in bioenergy innovation within Nigeria’s tertiary education system.

The visit concluded with a group photograph to commemorate the engagement.
