McPherson University VC Addresses Students on Security, Academics, and Conduct
The Vice-Chancellor of McPherson University, Seriki Sotayo, Ogun State, Prof. Francis Igbasan met with students of the Institution today to address a range of important issues affecting campus life.
In his remarks, the Vice-Chancellor announced that management has reviewed the previously scheduled vacation date and adjusted it to an earlier time to better suit academic planning.
He also addressed security concerns on campus, assuring students that the environment remains safe. He noted that armed military personnel, police officers, vigilante groups and other security operatives are currently providing protection, while additional measures are being put in place to strengthen the existing security network. He urged students to continue their academic activities without fear and to report any suspicious incidents promptly.
The Vice-Chancellor further disclosed the appointment of a new Chief Security Officer, Mr. Tiamiyu Rasheed, a retired senior police officer, who will oversee security operations and enhance coordination across the campus.
He also reminded students of the compulsory nature of chapel attendance, explaining that as a faith-based institution, participation in chapel services is an integral part of the university’s values and culture.
In addition, the Vice-Chancellor cautioned students against indecent dressing and advised them to ensure they are always smartly and appropriately dressed in line with the institution’s standards.
