Ministerial Committee Visits Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic for Skills Development and Engineering Workshop Assessment

Umaru Ali Shinkafi Polytechnic, Sokoto today received the Ministerial Committee on Skills Development and Engineering Workshop Intervention (MCSD & EWI) in Nigerian Polytechnics on an official assessment and inspection visit.

The visit focused on the review of the Polytechnic’s 2025 and 2026 Skills Development Intervention programmes, Engineering Workshop for One Product Initiative, and ongoing efforts towards strengthening technical and vocational education.

The Management of the Polytechnic appreciated the Committee for the visit and reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to quality skills acquisition, innovation, and sustainable capacity development in line with national educational objectives.

The delegation was led by Prof. Idris Muhammad Bugaje, Executive Secretary of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), alongside Engr. Dr. Idris Musa, Dean of the College of Engineering, Kaduna Polytechnic, and Dr. Gamawa Yusuf Ibrahim, Deputy Director at TETFund.

The team was warmly received by the Acting Rector, Engr. Aliyu Suleman Mindaudu, together with members of the institution’s management. 

The visit underscores the commitment TETFund to the effective implementation of skills development programmes across Nigerian polytechnics.
