NANS Honors BUK Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Haruna Musa, with Higher Education Leadership Award

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has conferred its prestigious Higher Education Leadership Award on the Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano (BUK), Professor Haruna Musa, fsi.

The award was presented on Friday night, April 17, 2026, at the Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja, as part of a high-profile ceremony commemorating 45 years of student activism in Nigeria. The event brought together student leaders, academic administrators, and stakeholders to celebrate milestones in the nation’s educational struggle.

Professor Musa was represented at the ceremony by the Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Mukhtar Ridwan Bunza, who received the honor on his behalf. The Vice-Chancellor was recognized for his transformative leadership and his commitment to enhancing the welfare and academic standards of students at Bayero University.

In a show of solidarity, the BUK student body was well-represented by the President of the Student Union Government (SUG), Comrade Abdulmutallib Kalli, alongside other key SUG officials.
