Nasarawa State University Convenes 1st Conference on Governance and Sustainable Development

The Faculty of Social Sciences, Nasarawa State University, Keffi,  hosted a dynamic conference on Monday 12th February,2024. titled "Governance and Sustainable Development: Breaking Barriers, Empowering Change."

The event, which drew together academics, and policymakers,  explored the vital interplay between effective governance and achieving sustainable development goals in Nigeria.

Setting the Stage for Change:

Renowned scholar Dr. Joseph Ochogu served as the esteemed lead speaker. His keynote address, titled "Breaking Barriers: Reshaping the Narrative of Governance for Sustainable Development," underscored the crucial role of transparent, accountable, and inclusive governance in building a more equitable and prosperous future.

Engaging Discussions and Diverse Perspectives:

Following Dr. Ochogu's thoughtful presentation, the conference delved into an insightful panel discussion.

Faculty members from various departments within the Social Sciences domain led the sessions, each focusing on specific aspects of the overarching theme. 

 

Another part of the event was the Goodwill messages by the Dean of the Faculty of Arts,  Prof. A. Bichi and the Former Dean Faculty of Social Sciences, Prof. A Liman and others, and the performance by the Theatre& Cultural Arts dance troupe.
