National Directorate of Employment begins free Tutorial classes for 1,100 SSCE, JAMB students
The National Directorate of Employment has opened free supplementary tutorial classes for 1,100 students retaking JAMB and Senior School Certificate Examinations in Kano State.
According to the NDE Coordinator in the state, Alhaji Inuwa Adamu, the initiative was under the agency’s special public works programme.
He said at the commencement of the classes on Wednesday in Kano, that it was meant to encourage students to improve their grades and secure admission into tertiary institutions.
Adamu said that the intensive supplementary training was free, adding that the directorate had skilled hands to ensure that the candidates were taught well.
He added that 33 teachers were recruited to run the classes for three months and each would receive N20,000 stipend monthly.
The NDE coordinator explained that 500 students would participate in Kano South Senatorial District, 200 in Kano North and 400 students in Kano Central.
One of the students, Kabiru Ibrahim, assured that they would utilise the opportunity to raise their grades and achieve their goals in life.
