National Universities Commission Lauds Nasarawa State University's Pioneering Role in Transnational Education

The Executive Secretary of the National Universities Commission Chris J. Maiyaki has praised the pioneering role of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, in the establishment and take off of the Transnational Education Guideline in Nigeria.

Mr. Maiyaki gave the commendation when the Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman led other Principal Officers of the University on a Courtesy Call at the Commissions Headquarters in Abuja on Thursday 15th August 2024.

The NUC helmsman noted that the Commission in order to further broaden accessibility to tertiary education came up with the initiative to allow foreign Universities to set up campuses in Nigerian Universities and so far NSUK is the only University in Nigeria that has successfully taken  up the prospect with Lincoln University of Malaysia.

Mr. Maiyaki while congratulating Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman on her appointment as Vice-Chancellor and also for the milestone she has covered in her first 100 days in office, described the NSUK and Lincoln University collaboration as very successful and a template for other Universities to follow. He pledged the commission's unflinching support to the University.

In her remarks, the Vice-Chancellor thanked the Executive Secretary for the warm reception accorded her and her entourage. She also leveraged on opportunity of the visit to inform him about her plans of transforming the University through the introduction of digital literacy and strengthening of entrepreneurship interventions.
