NES President Visits UNIMAID, Strengthens Partnership Ahead of National Conference
The President of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Dr. Baba Musa Yusuf, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, at his office in the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.
The President of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES), Dr. Baba Musa Yusuf, on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, at his office in the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building.

The visit, which forms part of preparations for the upcoming NES National Conference and Induction Oath-Taking Ceremony scheduled for Thursday, October 30, 2025, focused on deepening collaboration between the Society and the University in the areas of research, innovation, and economic development.
Welcoming the NES delegation, Professor Mele commended the Society for its sustained partnership with UNIMAID, noting that the collaboration has continued to promote knowledge exchange and policy-driven research in economics and related disciplines. He also expressed delight at the president’s visit and reaffirmed the University’s commitment to supporting initiatives that contribute to national growth and academic excellence.
In his remarks, Dr. Yusuf congratulated the Vice-Chancellor for his transformative leadership and praised the University’s long-standing reputation for academic distinction.
