The Delta State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has confirmed the arrest of the owner of Great Leaders International School in Agbor-Obi, Delta State, following allegations of the rape of a four-year-old female pupil from the school.

The child's mother became aware of the situation when her daughter returned from school complaining of pain. Upon examination, she observed blood clots from the child's vagina.
At first, the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, stated that the police were not informed about the incident and were awaiting an official report from the family. However, an updated response confirmed that the Area Commander in Agbor revealed the incident occurred two weeks ago. The suspect had been apprehended but denied the allegations.

The police spokesperson emphasized that justice would be served and discouraged attempts at settling such cases outside of legal processes. He noted that parents, especially from rural areas, sometimes accept monetary settlements from suspects, hindering prosecution efforts.
Efforts to contact the school for comments were unsuccessful as phone calls to the numbers listed on the school's banner went unanswered.
