NSUK Partners with JICA to Establish Clinical Trial Site and Secure International Scholarships
The Global Health and Infectious Diseases Control Institute (GHIDI) at Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), has hosted a high-level delegation from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) to formalize a strategic partnership aimed at enhancing global health research and academic mobility.
The visit marks a significant milestone in the university's drive to align with a 21st-century knowledge-based economy and elevate its global academic standing.
Academic Scholarships: The establishment of scholarship opportunities for students and researchers, facilitating exchange programs between GHIDI-NSUK and five prestigious universities in Japan.
Clinical Research Infrastructure: JICA will provide technical and structural support to set up a dedicated clinical trial site at GHIDI, positioning the institute as a hub for infectious disease research in Nigeria.
Capacity Building: A comprehensive program to strengthen the university’s internal capacity in managing global health challenges and controlling infectious diseases through specialized training and knowledge transfer.
