A devastating attack was reported in Yelewata, Benue State, where a 300-level Accounting student of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Miss Mary, and her mother lost their lives. The incident occurred around 11:00 p.m. and is believed to be a result of a Fulani herdsmen attack.

According to reports, the attackers stormed the community, setting houses ablaze and shooting sporadically, which led to multiple fatalities and injuries. The victims were trapped in their homes, with some burnt alive, while others were shot trying to escape.
