The conference aims to generate a new narrative, reaffirm political commitment, and deepen collaboration on sustainable financing models for malaria elimination. During the high-level engagement, Professor Liman met with the Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, to discuss the university's molecular lab, which was funded by USAID and is now collaborating with the ministry's supervision. She also used the opportunity to network with various organizations involved in the project.

This is a follow-up to a recent visit by a team from the National Malaria Eradication Programme to NSUK to discuss further research on eliminating malaria in Nigeria.
