NSUK Vice-Chancellor and Council Member Honoured with Awards of Excellence

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Jaruman Keffi, has been recognised with an Award of Excellence by the Royal Women Foundation of Nasarawa State for her exemplary leadership and groundbreaking achievements.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, Jaruman Keffi, has been recognised with an Award of Excellence by the Royal Women Foundation of Nasarawa State for her exemplary leadership and groundbreaking achievements.

Also honoured was Hon. (Chief) Mrs. Mary E. Enwongulu, member of NSUK’s Governing Council and former member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, in recognition of her distinguished public service and pioneering contributions to governance.

Professor Liman’s accolade celebrates her historic role as the first female Vice-Chancellor of NSUK, marking a significant milestone in the university’s history. Hon. Enwongulu’s recognition highlights her trailblazing career as the first female member of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly and her tenure as a two-time Commissioner in the State Executive Council.

The awards ceremony took place on Saturday, 20th December 2025, at the New Keffi Hotel, Keffi, attracting eminent figures from across the state and beyond. Distinguished attendees included Hajia Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development; the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Hajia Silifa Abdullahi A. Sule; former First Ladies Barr. Khadija Abdullahi Adamu and Hajia Salamatu Tanko Almakura; the Honourable Chief Judge, Justice Aisha Mohammed Usman; Dr. Justina Anjiode Kotso, Special Adviser to the Governor (OSSG); Hajia Zainab T. Ahmed, former Secretary to the Government; and Hon. (Chief) Dr. Aishatu Isah Idoma, among others.

A key highlight of the event was the distribution of empowerment packages to women across the state, reflecting the Royal Women Foundation’s commitment to promoting women’s socio-economic development and empowerment in Nasarawa State.
