NSUK Vice-Chancellor Seeks Strengthened Collaboration with ACReSAL

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has commended the leadership of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project for donating equipment worth millions of naira to the institution.

The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi (NSUK), Professor Sa’adatu Hassan Liman, has commended the leadership of the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) Project for donating equipment worth millions of naira to the institution.

Professor Liman expressed her appreciation during a thank-you visit to the National Project Coordinator of ACReSAL, Mr. Abdulhamid Umar, on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, in Abuja.

She noted that the intervention has significantly boosted teaching, learning, research, and community service at the university, particularly within the Faculty of Agriculture, the Amina Mohammed Centre for Climate Change, and the Department of Geography.

Reaffirming NSUK’s commitment to a sustainable partnership, the Vice-Chancellor appealed for expanded collaboration through additional equipment and facilities to enhance academic activities in the Departments of Geology and Mining, Plant Science and Biotechnology, and the UNDP/UINIPOD Centre.

Responding, the National Project Coordinator, Mr. Abdulhamid Umar, lauded Professor Liman for her visionary leadership and described the collaboration between ACReSAL and NSUK as “a partnership for the advancement of humanity.”

He explained that ACReSAL, a World Bank–financed project, is aimed at addressing land degradation and climate change challenges across 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Mr. Umar assured that ACReSAL would consider the university’s new requests and continue to provide support within the scope of its mandate.

The visit concluded with the exchange of souvenirs and a group photograph to mark the occasion.
