NUC Approves Two New Engineering Programs for Federal University Wukari

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially granted approval to the Federal University Wukari to establish two new full-time Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) degree programs, effective from the 2025/2026 academic session.

The approval follows a successful resource verification visit conducted by panels of experts appointed by the NUC to assess the availability of human and material resources at the university.

Approved Programmes

The Executive Secretary of the NUC considered the report and approved the commencement of the following programs, to be run exclusively in the Main Campus of the University:

B.Eng. Civil Engineering

Terms of Approval

In a letter signed by Abubakar M. Girei, Acting Director of Academic Planning, on behalf of the Executive Secretary, the NUC emphasized specific compliance requirements for the university:

Mode of Delivery: The approval is strictly for the full-time mode of delivery. Part-time modes require a separate request and processing by the Commission.

Nomenclature: Programs must bear only the approved titles and nomenclature; any change requires NUC approval.

Resource Provision: The University is enjoined to provide adequate human and material resources to ensure the continued development and growth of the approved programs.

The approval marks a significant expansion of engineering education opportunities within Taraba State and for the Federal University Wukari.
