NUC Grants Full Accreditation to FUL Nursing Science Programme

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has granted Full Accreditation to the Nursing Science programme of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), marking a significant achievement for the institution's College of Health Sciences.

The approval was conveyed in a letter dated July 13, 2026, and signed by the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Professor Abdullahi Yusuf Ribadu, following the accreditation exercise conducted across Nigerian universities in October and November 2025.

According to the Commission, the Nursing Science programme satisfied the required standards and has been awarded Full Accreditation, which is valid for a period of five years.

Reacting to the development, the Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University Lokoja, Professor Gbenga Solomon Ibileye, described the accreditation as a major milestone in the University's pursuit of academic excellence and quality assurance.

He congratulated the management, staff, and students of the College of Health Sciences, particularly the Department of Nursing Science, for their dedication and hard work, which contributed to the successful accreditation.

Professor Ibileye noted that the achievement reflects the University's commitment to maintaining high academic standards and assured parents, students, and other stakeholders that the institution would continue to provide quality education in line with national regulatory requirements.
