NYSC Lagos Gender CDS Group Empowers Women

The Gender Ambassadors Community Development Service group at the NYSC Lagos State Secretariat, Surulere has through its first "Women Trade Aid Project" (WoTAP), empowered six women.
Myschoolnews reports the event which is meant to grant formality to the programme which has long been activated brought about six persons who were empowered in varying degrees.
The women were attended to according to their challenges. Omoro Mabel and Adetokunbo Jalilatu, each received a sewing machine and an electric motor worth #74,000. Erejuwa Dupe was given a sum #100, 000, towards enrollment of her twin daughters in school after being unable to do so due to lack of money.
Other persons empowered were Abiodun Shade, who received #50,000 worth of hair-dressing equipment and accessories. Jimoh Oluseyi received #50,000 towards the purchase of a freezer for her retail business. Lastly was Samuel Olajumoke, who received #50,000 towards the purchase of provisions for her retail business.
It would be recalled that the Gender Ambassadors Community Development Service group, initiated last year, began its social empowerment and campaign when it sent back to school, fifty pupils of public schools by providing stationery, sandals, socks, school bags, uniforms and more to the pupils.
