NYSC Launches Free Healthcare Program in Akwa Ibom Community

In a commendable effort to provide essential healthcare services to underserved communities, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) in Akwa Ibom State has initiated a one-day health outreach program called the "Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers." The event took place in Afaha Ikot Ebak Community within the Essien Udim Local Government Area of the state.

The health outreach program, which was conducted at the Local Government Hall, attracted a substantial turnout of residents from the community. They had the opportunity to access free medical services, including diagnostic examinations, treatments for various ailments, prescription of medications, and referrals to healthcare facilities when necessary.

Mrs. Chinyere Ekwe, the NYSC Akwa Ibom State Coordinator, inaugurated the health initiative, which subsequently enjoyed significant success in providing healthcare services to the local population. While she was represented by Pastor Chinedu Ndulue, the Assistant Director of Corps Welfare and Health Services, Mrs. Ekwe encouraged the residents to take full advantage of the free medical services offered by NYSC for the betterment of their health and well-being.

The outreach event was attended by a diverse group of community members, including community leaders, youth, women, and children. Also present was Mr. Silas Imoh, the Personal Assistant to the Chairman of the Essien Udim Local Government Council. Their presence highlighted the collaborative efforts between NYSC and the local community in addressing healthcare needs.

The "Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers" reflects NYSC's commitment to reaching communities in need and improving the overall health and well-being of citizens.
