The arrest marked the culmination of a decade-long pursuit to apprehend the suspect, identified as Kabiru Musa, known by his alias "Dawa." Musa's notoriety as a criminal figure had increased the challenges of tracking him down, with many individuals reluctant to provide information due to fear for their safety.
Channels TV reported the statement of the Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State, Auwal Muhammad, who recounted the events that transpired on April 18th, 2011. He stated, "Between 12:30 and 1:00 pm, a group of youth led by one Kabiru Musa, alias Dawa, stormed the Giade Divisional Police Headquarters following the announcement of the 2011 Presidential Election result." Armed with dangerous weapons including knives, cutlasses, sticks, and petrol, they launched a vicious attack.
