OGITECH Commences 2026 Academic Year with Inter-Faith Institutional Prayer Session

The Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, officially flagged off its 2026 academic and administrative activities with a joint institutional prayer session on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

The event, held at the Prince Dapo Abiodun Twin Lecture Theatre, brought together staff and students of both Christian and Islamic faiths to seek divine guidance and institutional prosperity for the new year.

Delivering his New Year address following the prayers, the Rector, Dr. Abiodun Oluseye, expressed gratitude for the milestones achieved in 2025. He emphasized that the same dedication that sustained the institution in the previous year would be the catalyst for greater accomplishments in 2026.

Dr. Oluseye challenged the workforce and the student body to renew their focus on academic excellence. "We must work collectively to enhance the Institute’s reputation," the Rector stated, urging the community to remain diligent and purposeful in their roles.

Addressing the students, Dr. Oluseye underscored the importance of character alongside learning. He advised them to uphold the highest standards of discipline and integrity, reminding them that their conduct reflects the institutional values of OGITECH.

The Rector also used the opportunity to commend the harmonious relationship between various stakeholders on campus, noting that unity and inclusiveness remain the bedrock of the Institute’s progress.
