FULafia, NASITDEA Collaborate on AI, Cybersecurity and Data Protection

The Federal University of Lafia (FULafia) has partnered with the Nasarawa State Information Technology and Digital Economy Agency (NASITDEA) to strengthen digital infrastructure and enhance security of information systems.

The partnership was formalised through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding at the University's Permanent Site Campus.

Under the agreement, NASITDEA will support the provision of secure digital facilities, including a virtual digital forensics laboratory as well as other digital infrastructure.

The Vice-Chancellor of FULafia, Prof. Mohammed Isa Kida, expressed appreciation to the agency for the collaboration, describing it as an opportunity to boost the University's digital capacity.

Represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research and Partnerships, Prof. Ibrahim Ogiri Hassan, Kida called for maximisation of the benefits of the partnership.

The Director-General of NASITDEA, Haruna Sani Sani, said the collaboration would focus on training and knowledge-sharing in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data privacy and other emerging technologies.

He stressed the importance of secure systems, data protection, appropriate policies and skilled personnel in driving digital transformation.
